Snow totals were lower than anticipated south of Baltimore, with most areas seeing 2″ or less. The prolonged period of freezing rain and sleet was not expected to last as long as it did, and therefore cut down dramatically on snow totals. Nonetheless, roads were less than stellar on my drive in to work this morning with a major accident on an icy I-97 and a snow-covered 295. Once into the city, the roads were pretty much unplowed, with several inches of snow covering most of MLK Blvd.
Temperatures will struggle to reach the freezing mark today, limiting the melting before they plummet tonight into the 10s. We should rebound nicely tomorrow, with highs near 40 before moderating towards the end of the week. Temps in the low to mid 50s Thursday and Friday with rain chances increasing, as another cold front moves through, knocking us back to the mid 40s over the weekend.
