BALTIMORE (AP) — National Weather Service officials are investigating possible tornado touchdowns in two Maryland counties.
Meteorologist Technician Trina Heiser at the Sterling forecast office says investigators are checking Sunday on sites in Carroll and Frederick counties where tornados may have touched down during Saturday’s storms. She says no tornados have been confirmed in Maryland yet.
Carroll County officials say one family was displaced after a tree fell on their home in the Manchester area, one location where a tornado may have touched down.
Maryland emergency management officials say they received some reports of flooding Saturday, but no widespread damage from the storm. Dozens of storm-related deaths have been reported across six states after the storms pushed through, but officials say none have been reported in Maryland.
