The stretch of nice weather after Irene continues today with highs in the low 80s after a morning low of 55 here in Millersville. Expect much of the same tomorrow through Saturday before a cold front moves in with showers and storms on Sunday.
Tropical Storm Katia has formed off the African coast and is heading WNW towards the middle Atlantic ocean. This motion is expected to continue and would put the storm north of the Leeward Islands by Sunday morning as a major hurricane.
This track is north of the track Irene took, and current models show it re-curving out to sea before hitting the East Coast. However, it still must be monitored as it continues its trek across the Atlantic.
