It will be sunny today with highs in the low to mid 80s, much like yesterday and much like tomorrow and Friday. A slow moving cold front will approach the area this weekend, kicking off isolated showers and storms out ahead of it for both Saturday and Sunday. The front looks to then stall out just south of the area on Monday, allowing rain chances to persist into midweek.
Tropical Storm Katia continues to strengthen and should become a hurricane tonight. Computer models continue to show Katia recurving before nearing the East Coast, even more so than yesterday. Currently the storm looks to be more of a threat to Bermuda than the U.S.
Elsewhere, a low pressure near the Gulf continues to be monitored and could affect that area later this week. Some models are beginning to hint that this system may interact with the cold front moving through our area to bring better rain chances next week.
