The flash flood watch has been extended through this evening as more showers and storms work their way into the area. Moisture from the Gulf and the Atlantic continue to stream northward, fueling showers and storms throughout the eastern US. Today’s rain will not be the steady soaking we have seen the past few days. As the showers and storms form, they will produce very heavy rainfall in short periods, while the storms could produce strong winds and possibly a tornado.
Temperatures will continue to be held down by the rain and cloud cover but more breaks in the clouds will lead to warmer temps than yesterday. Highs today will reach the mid to upper 70s and will be into the 80s the rest of the week.
As the low pressure formerly known as Lee continues to sit and spin in the Ohio Valley, rain chances will continue here. Showers and storms will be possible through the weekend as it looks like the low will not move off the coast until Sunday or Monday.
