Rain is moving in from the south and will overspread the area within the next few hours. The rain will be heavy at times this afternoon and evening. 2-3 inches will be possible throughout central Maryland, with amounts over 4 inches possible along the I-95 corridor.
A flash flood watch is in effect until late this evening for all of central and eastern Maryland.
The heavy rain will end tonight, but showers and possible storms will persist through the weekend and into next week. Another cold front will move through on Monday night and Tuesday, bringing an end to the rain chances.
High temperatures will be in the mid 70s through Tuesday.
