A cold front will approach the area today and pass through tomorrow, bringing with it a chance of showers as it passes through. Another area of low pressure will form and move along the front, passing south of the state on Friday night and keeping any rain south of the area as well.
Following that system, skies will clear and another dry, cool weekend is on tap. The next chance of rain looks to come on Tuesday with another cold front, which looks to continue the chilly but not bitterly cold conditions.
As we look towards the long term and the holidays, there is no real sign of cold air or wintry precipitation for the area. The National Weather Service stated the chance of a white Christmas in the Mid-Atlantic is “not good” in their forecast discussion today.
Sorry, snow lovers!
