A storm system that is currently bringing heavy snow to the Northern Plains will continue its eastward trek and weaken as it moves by to our south. The models are currently showing precipitation moving into the area in the form of rain tomorrow afternoon. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 40s, but will begin to drop as the precipitation moves in. Current thinking is that the rain will change to light snow sometime tomorrow evening and will continue off and on tomorrow night into Sunday morning.
Ground temperatures are relatively warm, so accumulations will be limited. However, an inch or two is not out of the question for Central Maryland, including the Baltimore/Washington metro area. Slightly higher amounts to the north and west of the cities and possibly up to 5″ or so in the far western mountains.
If needed, a forecast update will be issued tomorrow morning.
