A cold front will approach the state tonight, while a low pressure system currently over the south interacts with the front and redevelops off the south east coast. The low will track northeast, off the coast but will be close enough to bring light rain and snow to the area tonight and tomorrow. Expect light rain to develop across the state tonight, transitioning to snow from west to east as the night progresses. The rain/snow will continue through the day tomorrow, before ending tomorrow evening. An inch or two of snow is possible in the mountains, elsewhere, little to no accumulation is expected.
As the low pulls away tomorrow evening and the cold front moves through, expect much colder air to filter in on gusty northwest winds. Temperatures tomorrow will top out around 40 before plunging to around 20 tomorrow night. Sunday looks to be sunny but cold, with highs struggling into the low to mid 30s.
Temperatures will begin to moderate as we move into next week with highs back into the 40s.
