As we remain under the influence of high pressure, sunny skies and warm temperatures will continue today with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Sunshine continues tomorrow and it looks to be a few degrees warmer than today with highs in the low 80s. A new record high may be set tomorrow as the current record at BWI is 82.
As southerly flow continues to bring in the warmth, it will also bring in higher dew points which will set the stage for our next storm system.
An area of low pressure will bring scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm to the area Thursday night through Saturday. Rainfall totals of near a half inch are likely, with higher amounts possible in any thunderstorms that develop.
This system will knock our temperatures back into the upper 60s to low 70s Saturday and Sunday, but we will warm back up into the mid 70s as we head into next week. The first day of spring is Tuesday and it will certainly feel like it with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
