The general pattern that we have been in will continue this week. High pressure off the Carolina coast will keep temperatures mild and rain chances to a minimum.
Today will be partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm this afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.
Rain chances decrease as we head into this evening as we lose the day time heating that fuel the development of the showers. Any rain that does fall will help to moisten the ground and set the stage for another foggy morning tomorrow.
Spring officially begins at 1:14am tomorrow and it will continue to feel spring-like. Any morning fog should quickly burn off as temperatures climb into the 70s under partly sunny skies.
The nice stretch will continue Wednesday through Friday, with highs in the mid to upper 70s each day.
A storm system will likely impact the area over the weekend, with scattered rain and cooler but still above normal temperatures on Saturday and Sunday.
