The end of the work week will also be the end of our stretch of unseasonably warm weather. Skies will turn mostly sunny today and highs will approach 80 in most areas.
As the storm system that is currently over the midwest approaches the area, scattered showers will develop tonight.
Showers will become more numerous tomorrow and a thunderstorm or two will be possible. Some of the showers could produce locally heavy rainfall. Highs tomorrow will top out in the mid 60s.
The shower and storm threat will continue Saturday night and Sunday, possibly lingering into Sunday night. When all is said and done, rainfall totals state-wide could approach 1.5 to 2″ in spots.
The system clears the area during the overnight Sunday, leaving cooler conditions and sunny skies in it’s wake. Highs for the first half of the work week will be in the low to mid 60s.
Temperatures will moderate a bit as we head towards midweek, ahead of another storm system that will bring a chance of rain Wednesday night and Thursday.
