A cold front will cross the area this morning allowing colder Canadian air to move in on strong Northwesterly winds. Expect winds to increase through this morning and gust to near 30mph this afternoon. Highs today will top out around 60 before beginning to fall through the afternoon.
A freeze watch is in effect for Central and Southern Maryland, while a Freeze Warning is in effect for Northern and Western Maryland. As winds decrease tonight and skies clear, temperatures will drop to near or below freezing in most spots. Be sure to cover or bring inside any tender vegetation.
Cool temperatures continue tomorrow, with highs only into the mid 50s under sunny skies.
Wednesday will be warmer, ahead of a cold front. Temperatures will climb to near 70 while the front approaches from the west. Expect a chance of showers and storms Wednesday afternoon as the front moves through and clears the area Wednesday night.
High pressure returns on Thursday and Friday, bringing mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 60s.
Another storm system looks to effect the area next weekend.
