A cold front has cleared the area, ushering in much cooler air and breezy conditions. Today’s highs will be right around 50 degrees under cloudy skies. There is also a slight chance of an afternoon shower as a piece of energy moves through the area. Out on the ridge tops, it will be cold enough for snow, and up to 2 inches is possible at the highest locations.
Winds will subside tonight as high pressure builds in, setting the stage for an unseasonably chilly night. A Freeze Watch is in effect for counties northwest of I-95 and Freeze Warnings are in effect for far Western Maryland. Lows will range from the upper 30s across the metro area, to upper 20s in Western Maryland.
Tomorrow will see high pressure continue to build in and temperatures starting to climb. Highs push into the mid 50s tomorrow, low 60s on Friday, near 70 on Saturday and into the mid 70s on Sunday. Each day will also feature plenty of sunshine.
Temperatures will continue to build as we head into next week, pushing into the mid 80s on Monday before a strong cold front moves through on Tuesday or Wednesday, bringing a chance of rain and cooler temperatures for the middle to end of the week.
