High pressure off the coast and low pressure to the west will continue to pump warm air up the east coast today, setting the stage for another warm and dry day. Highs today will again be in the mid to upper 80s under mostly sunny skies.
A weakening cold front will cross the area tonight, bringing in cooler air tomorrow and Wednesday. Highs tomorrow will be near 60 in the mountains, in the low 70s elsewhere and highs Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 60s statewide.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that the front will bring any rain to the area. The weather station here in Millersville has reported only 0.09″ of rain this month, well below the 3.19″ we normally see in April. Additionally, we normally see about 11.45″ of precipitation in the first 3.5 months of the year, and we have seen only half of that (5.71″) thus far.
We remain dry Thursday and Friday as high pressure remains in control. Temperatures moderate back into the 70s ahead of another low pressure system. This system looks to be more potent and could bring some much needed rain to the area next weekend.
