High pressure will briefly control the weather today, providing mostly sunny skies with temperatures reaching the upper 60s to near 70.
An area of low pressure will move from the midwest into New England as we head into tomorrow. An area of showers and thunderstorms ahead of the system will move through late tonight and early tomorrow morning. The system will drag a cold front through the state during the day tomorrow, keeping the rain chances up, with thunderstorms also possible late in the afternoon and into the evening.
The front will stall out as it moves to our south, but will move far enough south on Friday to allow for sunshine to return, with highs in the low to mid 60s.
Several waves of low pressure will develop and ride along the front as we head into the weekend. The first will move through Friday night and Saturday, the second will move through on Sunday. This will keep high temperatures around 60 and provide scattered showers through the weekend.
A drying and warming trend will develop as we head into next week.
