A warm front currently over southwest Virginia will push north through the area this evening, bringing warmer air and unsettled weather for most of this week. Before the front makes it through the area, we will see another day in the low to mid 60s today under partly sunny skies.
The front pushes through this evening, bringing a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm tonight.
The first in a series of disturbances will move through tomorrow, bringing another chance of showers and storms, while high temperatures soar into the upper 70s to near 80.
The state will remain on the warm side of the front through the week, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s Wednesday through Thursday. With the region in the warm, humid air and upper level disturbances providing a trigger, the threat of showers and thunderstorms persists each day.
A cold front will eventually push through early next week, returning the region to more seasonable weather.
