A cold front has brought an end to the oppressive heat wave that brought triple digit heat to the region the past week. Additionally, it has touched off showers and thunderstorms as it has moved and now stalled over the state.
Expect showers and thunderstorms to continue today, becoming more scattered this afternoon. Highs will top out in the low to mid 80s.
The front will sag further south tomorrow, lowering rain chances but an afternoon shower or storm can’t be ruled out. Highs tomorrow will be in the low 80s under partly sunny skies.
Mostly sunny skies on Wednesday and Thursday will help fuel isolated afternoon thunderstorm development. Highs will be in the mid 80s each day.
Much of the same can be expected on Friday and into the weekend. Highs in the mid 80s with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
High pressure finally pushes in for the second half of the weekend and into next week, bringing an end to the unsettled weather and warmer temperatures.
