High pressure will hold on to control our weather one more day, providing a mostly sunny Friday with highs in the upper 80s.
In a surprising change to the forecast, an area of low pressure is developing over the Carolinas today and will strengthen as it moves northward tomorrow. The low will move slowly northward, bringing a chance of showers tomorrow and Sunday. The easterly flow around the low will also keep temperatures in the low 80s.
A break in the weather is expected on Monday, with a return of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 80s.
A cold front will approach on Tuesday and move through the area before stalling just to our south. This will bring another shot of showers and thunderstorms late Monday through Wednesday. Additionally, the remnants of Isaac will likely ride along this boundary, possibly bringing more rain to the area.
High temperatures will be in the mid 80s through the period.
