A strong area of low pressure continues to spin over the upper midwest and will bring a cold front through the state tonight. Ahead of the front, expect increasing cloudiness and breezy conditions today with highs around 70 degrees.
The front will approach this evening, spawning showers and embedded thunderstorms after dark. There is a slight risk that some of the storms turn severe, with damaging winds being the primary threat.
The front will clear the area tomorrow morning, bringing an end to the rain threat as drier air works in from the northwest. Decreasing clouds and highs in the low to mid 70s are expected.
Cooler air arrives this weekend as Canadian high pressure builds in. Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid 60s under mostly sunny skies.
Temperatures begin to moderate into the 70s as we move into next week but we will remain dry Monday and Tuesday with a slight chance of showers on Wednesday.
