With high pressure remaining off the coast and southerly flow continuing, today will be similar to the past few with highs in the low to mid 90s. There will be a bit more cloud cover today as a cold front approaches from the west. An isolated shower or thunderstorm will be possible this afternoon and evening.
The front will continue to move towards the region tomorrow but southerly flow will continue ahead of it. Expect another day near 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible, mainly across northern and western Maryland.
The front will approach on Sunday, increasing the rain threat. Additionally, southerly winds will increase and gust to around 20 mph during the day. By the afternoon, the front will be close enough to trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
Showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread as we move into Sunday night and Monday. The front will finally move through the area Monday afternoon or evening, bringing an end to the rain. Rainfall totals of close to an inch are possible before it all ends Monday evening. Highs on Monday will be limited to the upper 70s to low 80s.
Behind the front, cooler and drier air will move in through midweek. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 70s under mostly sunny skies.
