Current Surface Map
High pressure will provide a mostly sunny day today with highs in the mid to upper 30s.

The high will move off the coast later today as an area of low pressure approaches from the southwest. The low will spread precipitation into the area tomorrow morning likely in the form of snow.

The snow will change to sleet during the afternoon and then eventually to rain by the evening along and east of I-95. This area may see up to an inch of snow before changing over.

North and west of the cities, the cold air will hold longer. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the counties along the Mason-Dixon line from Baltimore westward. These areas will see a prolonged period of snow and sleet with snow accumulations up to 6 inches possible followed by up to a quarter inch of ice. Some isolated areas right along the border may not get above freezing until early Sunday morning.

Behind this system expect a period of quiet weather with high pressure controlling the weather for most of the upcoming week. Temperatures will be a touch below average with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.
