A cold front is pressing eastward toward the area this morning with scattered showers. This front is separating temperatures in the 40s from the leading edge of a polar airmass that will spill into the area this afternoon. Today’s high temperature was hit this morning, 45 degrees at 7:41. Temperatures will continue to fall today, into the low 30s by evening.
A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for tonight through 6pm tomorrow. Winds will increase tonight and temperatures will plummet to around 5 degrees. The combination of cold and wind will make it feel like -5 to -15 degrees.
Tomorrow will be the coldest day in many years. Highs are expected to only reach the low to mid teens. Gusty winds will continue to make it feel below 0 at times.
Wednesday will begin a warm up that will last into the weekend. Highs will be near 30 Wednesday and near 40 on Thursday.
Clouds will increase Thursday as another storm system moves into the region. This system will likely bring a mix of wintry precipitation Thursday night, changing to rain on Friday. Highs on Friday will reach the mid 40s.
Rain chances continue into Saturday but we continue to warm, with highs near 50. Sunday will be even warmer, with highs pushing into the mid 50s.
