Yesterday’s system that brought rain and snow to the area has moved off to the east. In its wake, cold high pressure is building in. As a result, expect mostly sunny skies and windy conditions. Highs today will top out in the low 40s.
The winds will diminish overnight as the high moves overhead. Expect a clear and cold night, with lows in the mid 20s.
Tomorrow will see continued sunshine and continued cold, with highs in the low to mid 40s.
Temperatures will warm a bit on Sunday, ahead of the next system that will move in Sunday night. Highs will be in the upper 40s with increasing clouds and showers moving in from the southwest.
Rain will overspread the area Sunday evening into Sunday night. It may start briefly as a mix of rain and snow or sleet across the northern and western portions of the state but will change to all rain.
The rain will continue Monday, heavy at times, before ending, possibly as a period of snow, Monday night. Highs on Monday will be in the mid 40s, falling into the upper 20s Monday night.
Another shot of cold Canadian air will flow into the region behind the system. Highs on Tuesday will struggle to reach 40 and overnight lows Tuesday night will likely fall into the low 20s.
Wednesday will remain cold before a warming trend begins for the latter half of the week.
