Cold high pressure is building into the eastern US on gusty northwest winds. As a result, today will be mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the low to mid 30s.
Tonight will be clear and cold, with lows in the lower 20s.
Winds will turn southerly tomorrow, as the high pressure moves off shore and the next weather system approaches. Afternoon highs will likely push into the mid 40s as clouds begin to increase during the afternoon and evening hours.
Clouds will continue to increase tomorrow night and Sunday morning. Expect showers to move into the area during the late afternoon as an area of low pressure moves into the Great Lakes region and its associated warm front moves through. Highs will push into the mid 50. The rainfall could become heavy at times Sunday evening into Sunday night.
The rain will taper off to showers Monday morning as a cold front approaches from the west. The front should push through Monday night, bringing an end to the showers. Before it does, highs will push into the upper 60s to near 70 Monday afternoon.
Behind the front, high pressure will slide back into the region and skies will clear. Expect mostly sunny skies on Tuesday with highs in the mid 50s.
The front will stall just off shore and low pressure may form along it. This could bring precipitation to the area Wednesday.
