Here is a comparison between my final forecast map and snowfall reports compiled by the National Weather Service:
This storm definitely over performed and surpassed my expectations in areas north and west of Frederick and in northeastern Maryland where totals approaching 3 feet were reported. Other than that, it performed as expected with snowfall totals in line with my thinking.
Generally, 24-30″+ fell north and west of I-95, 18-24″ inches fell just east of I-95 while further south and east, totals tapered down due to mixing and a persistent dry slot during the morning and early afternoon hours yesterday.
