A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect for the northern portions of the state this morning. Areas of scattered showers and drizzle are falling into cold air at the surface, causing a glaze of ice to form. Temperatures will rise above freezing over the next few hours, ending the freezing rain threat.

Expect another day of melting as temperatures rise into the low 40s this afternoon. Additionally, a cold front will move through this evening, bringing more scattered showers, adding to the melting effort.

Showers will continue into the overnight, possibly mixing with snow before ending early tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow will feature decreasing clouds and highs in the mid to upper 30s, with overnight lows falling into the upper 10s to low 20s tomorrow night. This will cause another round of refreeze on surfaces that melt during the daytime.

Clouds will increase Thursday night as low pressure approaches from the south. This will keep temperatures up a bit, but expect another refreeze, as lows fall into the low to mid 20s.

Clouds will decrease through the day on Friday as the low slides away from the coast. Highs will be in the upper 30s to around 40.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather looks tranquil, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 40s both Saturday and Sunday.
