Summary: Low pressure to our west will drag a warm front then a cold front through today. Coastal low pressure may impact our area Sunday.
As a cold front approaches from the west, southerly flow will sharpen ahead of it, bumping temperatures to near 70 this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. The front will pass through late this afternoon or evening, but out ahead of it a line of scattered showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop and move through. These showers and storms will be scattered but could briefly impact outdoor plans this afternoon.
Tomorrow will feature a mix of clouds and sun, breezy winds and possibly a few scattered showers in the afternoon with above average temperatures state-wide ranging from the 50s in the mountains to mid 60s elsewhere.
A second cold front will pass through on Friday with a slight chance of showers. It will be noticeably cooler, with highs about 10 degrees colder than tomorrow.
The chilly air will settle in this weekend with highs Saturday and Sunday likely in the 40s to low 50s. Meanwhile, an area of low pressure will be developing to our south, along the Georgia/Carolina coastline. This system could bring rain, possibly mixed with snow to our area Sunday into Sunday night.
