Summary: A cold front will push through today. Another front will move through tomorrow. High pressure builds in Sunday before another system moves in Monday.
Areas of showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect the state today as a cold front pushes through from the west. The front should clear the state later this evening. Ahead of the front, temperatures have pushed into the upper 60s to near 70. Expect to add another 5-10 degrees to that by this afternoon, pushing highs to near 80 in most places despite the rain.
Showers will redevelop late tonight into the early morning hours tomorrow. This activity will be mainly east of the mountains and should clear out during the afternoon hours as the cold front crosses the area.
Behind that front, cold high pressure will build in. Sunday will be mostly sunny, windy and cold, with highs ranging from the mid 30s in the mountains to mid to upper 40s elsewhere. Winds will gust to near 35 mph.
Another system will move into the area Monday. Ahead of the system, southerly flow will bump temperatures back up to near normal for this time of year but rain chances increase during the afternoon hours as it moves in. Right now, it looks like Orioles’ Opening Day will start out dry, but light rain could move in during the game and last into the evening hours.
