Showers Move Out this Morning; More Rain Likely Tomorrow

Summary: A warm front will move into the area today and north of our area tomorrow. Low pressure will move along the front tomorrow. The front will persist into Tuesday before high pressure builds in on Wednesday.

An area of showers mainly south of Route 50 will continue to slide eastward this morning. These showers should be gone by the afternoon, leaving mostly cloudy skies in their wake. Most of the state will remain dry for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. There is another round of showers that will move in from the west. This area of light showers could impact areas mainly south of Route 50 again during the evening hours but rainfall will be light and scattered.

Unfortunately for 4th of July festivities tomorrow, rain will be more widespread with afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible as well. Rain chances will carry into the overnight with more showers and storms possible on Tuesday. Rainfall totals could top 1″ in most spots.
