As expected, areas of heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms are moving into the state from the south this morning. Additional areas of heavy rain and storms will continue to overspread the state through today and into tonight. Some areas, especially across central Maryland could see rainfall totals over 3″ today and tonight, with additional heavy rain and storms tomorrow and tomorrow night before tapering to showers on Friday. Another 1-2″ is possible during that timeframe, bringing storm totals to 3-5″.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for most areas west of the bay until Friday morning:
