Thunderstorms Likely Today

As a weak cold front approaches today, isolated showers and thunderstorms this morning will become more numerous this afternoon across the state. Rain chances will continue into the late evening before the activity dies out tonight. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s.

The cold front moves through tonight, allowing high pressure to move in tomorrow and resulting in a mostly sunny day. Highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid 90s.

Isolated thunderstorms will be possible on Friday with highs again in the low to mid 90s.

As low pressure remains over the east coast, expect unsettled conditions to continue through the week.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible again this afternoon and evening. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Rain chances increase tomorrow as a weak cold front approaches from the west. Showers and thunderstorms are likely through the day and into tomorrow night. Highs will again be in the mid to upper 80s.

High pressure will briefly build in on Thursday, providing mostly sunny skies and highs around 90.

Unsettled Weather For The Week Ahead

An area of low pressure will develop along a stationary front over northern North Carolina today and move northeastward tonight. This feature will bring isolated showers and thunderstorms to the area this afternoon and tonight. Highs today will be in the upper 80s to near 90.

The low moves away from the area tomorrow, as another cold front approaches from the west. In between the two systems, the air will remain warm and humid. Expect a better chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow and tomorrow night. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 80s.

A stalling cold front just to our north will continue to be the focus for shower and thunderstorm development. A weak area of low pressure is expected to develop along the front, keeping the chance of rain in the forecast through Saturday.

Expect showers and thunderstorms to develop this afternoon. Some of the storms could produce locally heavy rainfall. Highs will push into the low 90s.

Temperatures will be about 10 degrees cooler tomorrow, with more showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Highs will top out in the low 80s.

Mostly Sunny, Afternoon Storms

A cold front remains to our north while high pressure over the southeast continues to keep the region in hot, humid air. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon with some of the storms possibly becoming severe with damaging wind and large hail. Highs today will again be near 100 degrees, with heat index values topping 105.

The cold front will slowly move southward, continuing rain chances tonight and tomorrow but more importantly it will drop temperatures about 10 degrees. Highs tomorrow will be around 90. Additionally, showers and thunderstorms are likely again tomorrow as the front remains in the area.

Two More Days of Heat

High pressure over the southern Appalachians will continue to push warmer air into the region today and tomorrow.

Temperatures are expected to approach 100 degrees this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Although it will be hot, dew points are expected to drop into the 60s which will keep heat index values down.

The humidity will return tomorrow as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop possibly becoming severe and producing locally heavy rainfall. Highs will be in the mid 90s.

Here Comes the Heat Again

Another mini heat wave is coming to the region for the first half of this week. Hazy, hot and humid conditions are expected through Wednesday.

Today will be partly sunny with a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 90s.

Expect more sunshine on Tuesday and as a result, warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 90s to near 100.

A cold front will approach on Wednesday, increasing thunderstorm chances during the afternoon and evening as temperatures again push into the mid to upper 90s. Some of the storms may be strong to severe.

Today will feature plenty of cloud cover as well as scattered showers, mainly in the mountains. Highs will push into the mid 80s despite the clouds.

A warm front will approach the area tonight, pushing through during the day tomorrow. This front will bring in warmer and more humid air which will support more scattered showers tonight, with thunderstorms possible tomorrow. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Sunday begins another stretch of warm and humid weather with afternoon thunderstorms possible. Highs will push into the low 90s.

Another Nice Day…Heat and Humidity to Return

High pressure will continue to control our weather today before the stationary front to our south begins moving north as a warm front tomorrow.

Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the 70s in the mountains to around 90 in the metro areas.

The warm front will begin moving northward tonight and will cross the area late tomorrow bringing more clouds, a chance of thunderstorms and increased humidity. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 80s to near 90 under mostly cloudy skies. The best chance for thunderstorms will be tomorrow evening.
