Today will be partly sunny with an isolated shower possible this afternoon, mainly in the western portion of the state. Highs will be in the mid 80s.

Expect more of the same tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

The humidity will begin to increase on Friday, as the stationary front that has been in the Carolinas begins to move northward as a warm front. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

Mostly Sunny, Isolated Thunderstorms

The stationary front to our south will continue to sink further south today, keeping the best rain chances south of here. There will be a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon with otherwise mostly sunny skies. Highs today will push into the mid 80s.

Slight rain chances continue through tonight and into tomorrow as temperatures remain seasonal. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

The front will begin to move back northward on Thursday as a warm front. Before the front moves in, expect a pleasant day on Thursday with highs in the mid 80s under mostly sunny skies.

Unsettled and Much Cooler

A cold front has brought an end to the oppressive heat wave that brought triple digit heat to the region the past week. Additionally, it has touched off showers and thunderstorms as it has moved and now stalled over the state.

Expect showers and thunderstorms to continue today, becoming more scattered this afternoon. Highs will top out in the low to mid 80s.

The front will sag further south tomorrow, lowering rain chances but an afternoon shower or storm can’t be ruled out. Highs tomorrow will be in the low 80s under partly sunny skies.

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 1:45 PM UNTIL 10:00 PM EDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER…THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH…AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE.

Happy 4th of July!! Today will be mostly cloudy, hot and humid with thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with heat indices from 100-105. Some of the storms may be severe with damaging winds and large hail. If you have outdoor plans today, be sure to stay alert.

Any and all storms that develop this afternoon and evening will weaken tonight and should not interfere with firework displays.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be another hot and humid day, with highs around 100 degrees.

Hot and Humid with a Chance of Storms

Temperatures will rise into the low 90s today and the humidity will continue to build. This will fuel isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. Any storm activity will diminish this evening as we lose the day time heating.

Tomorrow will be a few degrees warmer than today, with highs in the mid to upper 90s. There is a better chance of storms tomorrow afternoon and evening, some of them may become severe.

The heat continues to build on Thursday and Friday, with highs approaching 100 degrees. The heat will continue into the weekend with highs on Saturday again near 100.

Slight Break in the Heat

Today will be slightly “cooler” with highs in the low 90s and dew points in the low 60s. This will make the temperatures much more tolerable than the past few days. The thunderstorm chances that we have seen will continue today, with scattered storms developing this afternoon and evening.

Unfortunately, the break in the heat is short lived. Expect the humidity to begin to build again tomorrow, with highs again in the low 90s.

Rain chances increase a bit as well, as a weak area of low pressure moves in from the west. The low will push through on Wednesday, bringing a better chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening with highs in the mid 90s.

The heat continues to build today, under clearing skies as afternoon highs approach 100 degrees. A Heat Advisory is in effect for this afternoon as heat index values push to near 105. The heat and humidity will also help fuel the development of isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the mountains. These storms will move eastward through the evening, possibly reaching the metro area overnight.

An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for tomorrow. Highs around 100 will combine with the humidity to push the heat index to near 110 degrees. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms are also possible.

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms tonight as storms from the midwest move through.

An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for tomorrow as temperatures approach 100 degrees and the heat index approaches 110. There is also a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Another, Longer Heat Wave on the Way

High pressure remains over the Eastern United States and will provide one more nice day before it slides off the coast and begins to advect hot, humid air into the region.

Today will be sunny and breezy with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Tomorrow will be noticeably warmer and more humid as highs push into the low 90s. The heat continues to build on Friday, as does the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Highs Friday will be in the mid to upper 90s.
