With high pressure remaining to our west, hot and humid conditions will persist along the east coast today. Highs will be in the mid 90s with heat indices around 100. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible again, mainly in the mountains.

The high will move overhead tomorrow, as it begins to be dislodged by a cold front. Highs will be in the mid 90s with a slight chance of afternoon storms.

The high will move to our southeast on Friday, allowing southerly flow to develop which may in turn raise our temperatures to the upper 90s and cause dewpoints to rise into the low to mid 70s. The result will be heat indices that may top 105 degrees in some areas. There is a slightly better chance of thunderstorms Friday afternoon.

With high pressure still in control of the weather, expect another hot and humid day today. Highs will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday, pushing into the mid 90s with heat index values near 105 this afternoon.

Tomorrow will be a near carbon-copy of today. It will continue to be hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s.

A stray afternoon thunderstorm will be possible each day, mainly across the mountains.

The high pressure center will begin to weaken across the area Thursday and Friday, allowing a better chance of thunderstorms, but this activity will remain isolated at best. Highs both days will remain in the mid 90s.

A strengthening area of high pressure will bring the first real heat wave of the year this week. A cold front should bring some relief this weekend.

Today will feature mostly sunny skies with a high around 95. Heat indices will be near 100 this afternoon.

The heat and humidity will continue to build tomorrow through Friday, with highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values well into the 100s.

Continued Hot and Humid; Afternoon Storms

High pressure off the southeast coast will continue to pump hot and humid air into the region. More showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon as highs push into the low to mid 90s.

More of the same tomorrow, with highs in the mid 90s and afternoon showers and storms possible. Some of the storms could turn severe with damaging winds and large hail possible.

A weak cold front will approach the region on Thursday, increasing thunderstorm activity and the likelihood of severe weather. Highs on Thursday will be around 90 degrees.

Partly Sunny Today; Slight Chance of a Shower

Today will offer a brief respite from the heavy rainfall events that have been affecting the area lately. A cold front is currently moving through the state and until it clears the area, a slight chance of showers exists.

The front should push off the coast by this afternoon, ending the rain threat. Highs today will be in the low to mid 80s under eventual partly sunny skies.

High pressure builds in briefly this afternoon and tonight before the next rain maker begins to take aim on the area. The cold front that is currently pushing through will stall out to our south and remain stationary through Thursday.

For tomorrow, thunderstorms over the midwest may ride along the boundary and affect our area during the afternoon and evening. These storms could be severe with damaging winds, heavy rainfall and isolated tornadoes. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.

As a warm front moves northward today and a cold front approaches from the west, several rounds of heavy rainfall will move through today. Additionally, thunderstorms are likely this afternoon, producing locally heavy rainfall and strong gusty winds.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for all of central Maryland, while a general Flood Watch is in effect for the Eastern Shore. Highs today will be in the mid 70s.

Rainfall will begin to taper off later tonight as the cold front moves through.

The front will clear the area tomorrow morning, but will stall out to our south. This will allow for a slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the low 80s.

TS Andrea to Bring Heavy Rain Today

Tropical Storm Andrea will continue to move northeastward along a frontal boundary today and tonight, bringing heavy rainfall and scattered thunderstorms to the area. Highs today will be in the mid 70s.

Over an inch of rain has fallen across most of the state and another 2-3 inches with isolated spots over 4 are possible today and tonight. Consequently, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for most of the state, east of the mountains through tonight.

Rain from Andrea will taper off around midnight tonight as the storm system races off to the northeast. Behind the system, warm, moist, tropical air will be left in place. This will set the stage for a muggy Saturday with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be around 80 degrees.

Scattered Showers and Thunderstorms into the Afternoon

A cold front continues to move towards the state this morning and will move through this afternoon. Ahead of the front, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible through this morning and into the afternoon.

The front will clear the state today, bringing an end to the rain threat and ushering in drier air. Highs today will top out in the upper 70s to around 80.

High pressure moves in tomorrow, setting up a pleasant and dry stretch for the next few days. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 70s under sunny skies.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Continued Heat; Storm Chances Increase this Weekend

With high pressure remaining off the coast and southerly flow continuing, today will be similar to the past few with highs in the low to mid 90s. There will be a bit more cloud cover today as a cold front approaches from the west. An isolated shower or thunderstorm will be possible this afternoon and evening.

The front will continue to move towards the region tomorrow but southerly flow will continue ahead of it. Expect another day near 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible, mainly across northern and western Maryland.

The high pressure that was to our west and brought pleasant conditions for the Memorial Day weekend has moved off shore and is strengthening off the coast. Southerly flow around the high will continue to push warm and humid air into the region. Highs today will be around 90 degrees.

There is a slight chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon and evening.

The heat will continue to build tomorrow with highs in the low to mid 90s under mostly sunny skies.

Friday looks to be a carbon copy of tomorrow. Mostly sunny, highs in the low to mid 90s.
