Mostly Sunny Today; Severe Storms Possible Tomorrow

Current Surface Map
High pressure will deliver a mostly sunny day today with highs around 90 degrees.

The high pressure will be pushed off shore as a strong cold front approaches and move through the area tomorrow bringing numerous showers and thunderstorms to the state.

Some of these storms could become strong to severe tomorrow afternoon, with damaging wind gusts as the primary threat.

Stay alert tomorrow for possible watches and warnings as storms develop through the day.

Pleasant weekend followed by a hot week

Current Surface Map
High pressure continues to dominate the weather, providing sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s this weekend.

The center of the high will shift off the coast as we move into the new work week. Clockwise flow around the high will allow southerly flow to bring more heat and humidity into the region while minimizing rain chances.

Highs on Monday will creep up into the mid 80s, pushing to near 90 on Tuesday and into the low to mid 90s by mid to late week.

Mostly Cloudy today

Current Surface Map
Low pressure will continue to move away from the area today, but will be close enough to bring a slight chance of a shower to the lower Eastern Shore and decreasing cloudiness to the rest of the state. Highs today will be in the upper 70s.

High pressure continues to build tomorrow, increasing the sunshine but keeping temperatures in the upper 70s with low humidity. This nice weather will continue through the weekend and into next week.

Temperatures and humidity will begin to rise Monday and Tuesday as the high pressure center pushes off shore and southerly flow returns. Highs Monday will push into the mid 80s, near 90 on Tuesday and likely into the 90s on Wednesday as the high pressure remains parked over the western Atlantic ocean.

High pressure takes control

Current Surface Map
The cold front that was to our west yesterday and brought showers to the state is now crossing the area and will usher in drier air and breezy conditions. Highs today will be in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies.

Tomorrow will be slightly cooler than today and feature a bit more cloud cover, with highs in the upper 70s. There is a slight chance of a shower east of the bay as the area of low pressure that brought the cold front through drifts southeastward and out to sea.

High pressure remains in control through the weekend and into next week. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s Friday through Sunday with mostly sunny skies.

Nice today, showers and storms tomorrow

Current Surface Map
Today will be mostly sunny and pleasant, with highs in the low 80s and lower humidity.

Unfortunately, the nice weather will be short lived as a strong area of low pressure will approach the state tomorrow.

The system will bring a warm front through the area during the day, followed by a cold front overnight. These features will allow showers and thunderstorms to develop during the afternoon and move through. Some of the storms could become severe with damaging winds, hail and heavy rainfall as the primary threat.
