Decreasing Clouds Today; Coastal Storm Midweek

Current Surface Map
High pressure will build into the area today and bring a return to sunshine for this afternoon and tomorrow. Highs both days will be around 50 degrees.

Computer models are in agreement that an area of low pressure currently over Missouri will dive to the Gulf Coast where it will intensify and turn the corner to move up the eastern seaboard.

While they agree on this much, there is slight disagreement in the eventual track and as is always the case with these storms, the exact track will determine our weather and a small change in the track can have drastic effects on the forecast.

Scattered thunderstorms today, cold front tonight

Current Surface Map
The heat and humidity will last one more day, as high pressure is pushed east and a cold front approaches from the west. Ahead of the front, afternoon and evening thunderstorms will develop across the state. The storms will be slow moving and will produce locally heavy rainfall. Highs today will be around 90 degrees.

Shower and thunderstorm chances increase tonight as the cold front crosses the state

Tomorrow will still be warm, with highs in the mid 80s, but humidity levels will decrease, making it feel much more comfortable. A cold front associated with a deep area of low pressure will move through tomorrow night. This will set the stage for a nice Thursday, with highs in the low 80s.

Rain redevelops this afternoon

Current Surface Map
A cold front remains to the west today, while an area of low pressure and associated rainfall is developing along it to the south. This low pressure system and rainfall will continue to move to the northeast along the front and will bring more rainfall later today. Highs will reach into the 70s before the rain moves in.

The rain is expected to be more widespread than yesterday and will be heavier as well. Isolated rainfall totals of up to a half inch are possible before the cold front clears the state late tonight into tomorrow morning.

Cloudy, chance of showers

Current Surface Map
Today will be much like yesterday, but with a lesser chance of showers. Today’s high temperatures will be held down by the cloud cover, but should reach the upper 50s to low 60s in most spots.

Another cold night on tap tonight, with lows in the upper 30s to near 40.

High pressure briefly moves in on Wednesday, bringing warmer temperatures and some breaks in the cloud cover. Highs are expected to reach the mid 60s, which is near normal for this time of year. The high will be displaced by another storm system that will first drag a warm front through the state Wednesday night and Thursday. This will bring another chance of rain to the area, mainly on Thursday.

Cooler stretch… rainy weekend on tap

Current Surface Map
A weak cold front will cross the state this morning, bringing in cooler air tomorrow and Thursday. Highs today will manage to get into the mid 70s under mostly sunny skies.

The front will stall just to our south tomorrow, as low pressure forms over the Carolinas. This will bring a chance of showers to the area tomorrow and tomorrow night. With extensive clouds and northeasterly flow, highs tomorrow will struggle into the low 60s.

Rainy leap day ahead

Rain is currently overspreading the area from west to east and will last though the night. A rumble of thunder will also be possible this afternoon, as temperatures rise into the mid to upper 40s. Rainfall totals of around 3/4 of an inch are expected by tomorrow morning.

We clear out tomorrow and Friday, with highs tomorrow in the mid 60s while mid 50s are expected on Friday.

A fast moving area of low pressure bring a chance of showers during the overnight on Friday and more showers on Saturday.

Sunny today, rain tomorrow

Current Weather Map
Expect mostly sunny skies today with highs in the low 50s to mid 50s. An area of low pressure is currently moving out of Colorado and will move into the Great Lakes. This system will drag a cold front through the eastern US tomorrow. Ahead of the front, rain will develop during the early morning hours tomorrow and last through tomorrow night. Rainfall totals approaching an inch are possible before the front clears early Thursday morning.

Sunny and warm today

Current Surface Map

Expect sunny skies and warm conditions today, with temperatures approaching 60 today. Unlike Friday we will not be relying on a warm front to bring in the milder air, so there is no chance that the warmth stalls out to our south today. A weak, dry cold front will move through later today and it will usher in slightly cooler air for tomorrow, but sunshine will remain.

A stronger area of low pressure will move into the Great Lakes Tuesday night and Wednesday, bringing moisture and rain to the area on Wednesday and Wednesday night. Rainfall totals may approach an inch with this system.

Rain today, coastal storm more likely this weekend

Current Weather Map
Rain will continue to overspread the area from SW to NE this morning and will continue off and on through the day. Highs will be in the low 50s. Expect clearing skies late tonight, as high pressure builds in tomorrow bringing mostly sunny skies into the first half of the weekend. Highs tomorrow and Saturday will be in the low to mid 50s.
