High pressure off of the south east coast will continue to pump warm and humid air into the region. This will develop showers and thunderstorms across the state today. Some of the storms could become severe, with large hail being the primary threat. Highs today will be in the upper 80s.

A backdoor cold front will approach tomorrow, adding another mechanism for shower and thunderstorm development. Showers and storms are likely tomorrow as well, especially in the afternoon. Highs will be around 80.

The front will push through the state Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Showers will remain likely Thursday morning, tapering off during the afternoon as the front pushes south. It will be much cooler as well, with highs likely topping out in the mid to upper 60s.

A cold front will move into and through the area today. Ahead of the front, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. Some of the storms could be strong to severe, with damaging winds. Highs will be in the low 80s.

The front will clear this evening and northwest flow will develop. The flow will strengthen tomorrow resulting in breezy conditions. Additionally, an upper level disturbance will push through during the afternoon, increasing clouds with an isolated shower also possible. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

Saturday will start out mostly clear, but an afternoon sprinkle is possible. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

An area of rain continues to push into the north east portion of the state this morning. This rain is associated with a warm front that is situated near the area. This rainfall will continue to affect the north east counties through this morning.

Additional rainfall is expected this afternoon and evening across most of the state as scattered showers and thunderstorms develop. Some of these storms may become severe, with damaging winds being the greatest threat. Highs today will reach the mid to upper 70s.

A cold front will move into the area tonight and pass through tomorrow. The front will bring another round of scattered thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. It should clear the state during the evening hours, ending rain chances and bringing in cooler and drier air. Highs tomorrow will be in the low 80s.

High pressure will remain overhead today, leading to sunny skies and high temperatures in the low to mid 70s.

The high will slide off the coast tomorrow, allowing southerly flow to develop. This will increase moisture and lead to increasing clouds through the day. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

A cold front will approach tomorrow night and pass through Wednesday night. The front will bring showers and possibly thunderstorms to the region during the day Wednesday. Some of the storms could be severe with damaging winds. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect this evening through tomorrow night for all counties west of the bay, except Garrett.


A large area of low pressure continues to slowly move through the middle of the country. The low has been responsible for the severe weather and tornadoes across the deep south and will spread another round of rainfall into our area today.

Rain is moving back into the state from west to east. Expect rain to overspread the entire state over the next few hours. The rain will continue through the day. It will also be breezy with highs in the low 50s.

A Wind Advisory is in effect this evening into tomorrow morning for the entire state except the lower eastern shore


An area of low pressure and a strong cold front will move into and through the area today and tonight. Ahead of the system, strong southerly flow will push temperatures into the upper 60s to around 70 this afternoon.

Expect showers to develop later this morning into this afternoon. As the front moves closer this afternoon and evening, thunderstorms will be possible. There is a slight risk that these storms may be severe with strong, damaging winds as the primary threat. Stay alert for possible watches and warnings this afternoon and evening.

The front will clear the area late tonight, bringing in much colder air and strong gusty winds. Winds could gust to near 50mph tonight and tomorrow morning.

A strong cold front with ample tropical moisture is moving into the region. A band of showers and thunderstorms has pushed into the western portion of the state and will continue a steady march to the east.

Some of the storms may become severe this afternoon, with damaging wind being the main threat. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Rainfall totals of over an inch are possible from this system. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

The rain will taper off this evening, into tonight. High pressure builds in tomorrow bringing sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s.

An area of low pressure moving into a very unstable atmosphere has touched off a line of thunderstorms this morning. The line is currently moving into central Maryland. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for this line. Expect frequent lightning, very heavy rainfall, large hail and strong gusty winds with this line of storms.

Light rain will continue behind the line for a few hours. As the low moves to our north this afternoon, winds will turn southerly and the atmosphere will destabilize again. Another round of severe thunderstorms is expected this afternoon and evening across the area. These storms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, heavy rainfall and tornadoes. It will be warm, humid and windy today, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and winds gusting to 35mph.

A frontal boundary is stalling out to our south. As it does, an area of low pressure will ride along the front, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area tonight and tomorrow.

Meanwhile, today will be partly sunny, warm and humid with an isolated shower or thunderstorm possible this afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 80s to around 90.

Thunderstorm activity will actually increase tonight as a piece of energy moves through the area. Some of these storms may become severe with damaging winds and heavy rainfall.

A thunderstorm complex over the midwest will move eastward tomorrow morning, bringing a chance of morning rain or thunderstorms to the area. Regardless of that system, as the low and cold front approach, all signs point to strong to severe thunderstorms developing over the area by afternoon. A wide-spread severe weather event is looking likely tomorrow afternoon, with damaging winds, large hail, heavy rainfall and isolated tornadoes possible across the entire state but especially along central and eastern Maryland. Highs will be in the upper 80s.

Dense fog will continue to lift this morning, leaving cloudy conditions. As we warm this afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop again. Some of the storms could produce locally heavy rainfall. Highs today will push into the mid to upper 70s.

High pressure builds in tonight and into tomorrow, before the next weather maker begins to affect us tomorrow afternoon. A cold front to the west will provide forcing to help shower and thunderstorm development during the afternoon and evening. Some of the storms could become strong to severe with gusty winds and hail. Highs tomorrow will push into the 80s.

The shower and storm threat will continue Friday night and Saturday as the front continues to march into the area. The storms Saturday afternoon and evening could once again turn severe. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.
