Sunshine to End the Week

The cold front that brought unsettled weather, heavy rain and gusty winds to the area yesterday has pushed off the coast and allowed cooler and drier air to begin to filter into the area.

Expect decreasing clouds today with highs in the low to mid 70s. Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s to around 50 tonight under clear skies.

Thursday and Friday will feature abundant sunshine with temperatures in the mid 70s.

Low Pressure to Bring Rain to the Region

High pressure will be pushed off the coast today as a warm front moves northward through the state. Clouds will increase through the day and there is a chance of rain later this afternoon into tonight. Highs today will be in the mid 70s.

A cold front to the west will combine with an area of low pressure to our southwest to bring widespread rainfall to the area. Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight through tomorrow night.

Expect a breezy day tomorrow, with locally heavy rainfall. Rain totals well over 2 inches will possible in many areas. Additionally, strong to severe damaging wind will be possible with any thunderstorms that develop. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.

Another Sunny Day; Cold Front Passes Tonight

High pressure moves off the coast today, providing one more day of sunshine and pleasant temperatures before being replaced with a weak frontal passage tonight. Highs today will be in the low 80s.

The weak cold front will push through late tonight and tomorrow morning. At this point, it appears that there won’t be much if any rainfall with it. The front should clear the state during the morning hours tomorrow, bringing in a reinforcing area of high pressure. Expect mostly sunny skies by afternoon with highs in the mid 70s.

High pressure will briefly control the weather on Sunday, bringing another mostly sunny day with highs in the mid 70s.

Sunny Today; Frontal Passage Late Tomorrow

The high pressure that has controlled our weather this week will begin to shift off the coast today while continuing to bring sunshine to the area. As it shifts, temperatures will increase a bit with highs today and tomorrow into the low 80s.

Expect another mostly sunny day tomorrow, with clouds gradually increasing through the day. A cold front currently to the west will push through the area tomorrow night, bringing the possibility of a shower as it does.

High pressure builds back in for the weekend, bringing mostly sunny skies for both Saturday and Sunday with highs back into the mid to upper 70s.

Another Sunny Day

Canadian high pressure brought cooler and drier air to the area yesterday. The high at the weather station here in Millersville was 75.9 with dew points in the low 50s. This morning, the temperature dipped down to 48.6 for our low for the day.

Expect more of the same today with highs in the upper 70s under mostly sunny skies.

Temperatures will begin to increase each day as we move towards the weekend, but we will remain mostly sunny through the end of the week. Highs tomorrow will push into the low 80s with low to mid 80s expected Thursday and Friday.

Showers This Morning; Isolated Storms This Afternoon

A cold front is triggering showers around the state this morning and will stall out as it moves through central Maryland this afternoon. This will keep a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the forecast into this evening. Otherwise, expect decreasing clouds as we move through the day. Highs will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees.

A mostly sunny Friday is on tap with highs around 90 degrees.

A second cold front will push through the state on Saturday, accompanied by showers and thunderstorms.

Unsettled Weather Continues

A weak cold front is moving towards the area today and will help touch off isolated showers and thunderstorms. Like the past few days, the showers and storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s.

A second front will move through the area tomorrow before stalling out around the bay. Tomorrow should be mostly dry, with a slight chance of a shower as a second cold front moves in and washes out as it pushes towards the bay. Highs will be around 90 degrees.

Scattered Heavy Showers and Storms

With the remnants of Isaac still to our west and a stationary front draped across the area, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely again today and tomorrow.

Deep tropical moisture remains over the region which means that any shower or storm that develops will again be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall. Highs today will be in the mid 80s.

As the remnant low of Isaac moves northeastward tomorrow, a cold front will approach the area from the west. This will keep a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. The storms will again be capable of producing heavy rainfall in a short period of time. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 80s.

Mostly Sunny Stretch Continues; Isaac to Impact Weekend

High pressure will continue to bring dry conditions to the area through the end of the week and into the weekend while Tropical Storm Isaac continues to push into Louisiana. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s today.

The high will be pushed off the coast tomorrow and southerly flow will allow temperatures to soar into the low to mid 90s tomorrow. Meanwhile, Isaac will continue to push into the Mississippi Valley, bringing heavy rainfall to the Midwest.

The Depression is expected to curve back to the east as it continues to weaken into a remnant low. As it does, clouds will begin to increase here on Saturday. Highs will be around 90 degrees.

Cold Front Pressing Through, Drier Air on the Way

A cold front is currently passing through the state, bringing a line of scattered showers with it. The front will clear the area this afternoon and drier air will begin to filter in bringing a return to sunshine. Highs today will reach the upper 80s.

Expect a cooler and drier day tomorrow and Thursday with highs in the low to mid 80s both days.

As the high moves off shore on Friday, southerly flow will develop, bringing a return of heat and humidity for the weekend. Highs Friday will be around 90 degrees.
