A FREEZE WARNING has been issued for all of central and eastern Maryland.


A strong cold front is moving through, spreading showers and thunderstorms into the area. The showers and storms will continue into this evening before tapering off after dark. As colder air moves in behind the front, the rain may end as a brief period of snow, mainly north and west of the cities. Highs today will reach the mid to upper 60s before falling this afternoon.

Clouds will increase today in advance of a cold front moving in from the west. It will also be windy, with highs around 80.

The front will move closer tonight, spreading showers into the area after sunset.

Showers will continue tomorrow with locally heavy rainfall possible. Thunder and gusty winds cannot be ruled out, especially tomorrow afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 60s before temperatures begin to fall during the late afternoon.

The rain will continue tomorrow night and as colder air moves in, it may end as a brief period of snow, especially north and west of the cities. No accumulation is expected. Lows will reach the low 30s.

A cold front to our west is spreading showers into the area this morning. The showers will increase in coverage this afternoon and last into tonight. Highs today will likely reach the upper 50s to lower 60s.

As the front moves overhead tonight, it will likely stall out. At the same time, another area of low pressure will develop to along the front and spread another round of rainfall into the area this weekend.

Expect periods of rain tomorrow. The rain could be heavy at times, especially tomorrow afternoon and into tomorrow night. Highs will be in the low 50s.

A Wind Advisory is in effect this evening into tomorrow morning for the entire state except the lower eastern shore


An area of low pressure and a strong cold front will move into and through the area today and tonight. Ahead of the system, strong southerly flow will push temperatures into the upper 60s to around 70 this afternoon.

Expect showers to develop later this morning into this afternoon. As the front moves closer this afternoon and evening, thunderstorms will be possible. There is a slight risk that these storms may be severe with strong, damaging winds as the primary threat. Stay alert for possible watches and warnings this afternoon and evening.

The front will clear the area late tonight, bringing in much colder air and strong gusty winds. Winds could gust to near 50mph tonight and tomorrow morning.

Partly sunny and warm today; Showers and possibly a thunderstorm tomorrow

High pressure will hang on to control our weather one more day, providing partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70 today.

The high will be displaced tomorrow as an area of low pressure and a cold front move toward the area. The system will spread showers into the area tomorrow morning. Additionally, a line of thunderstorms may move through the area tomorrow afternoon. These showers and storms may produce locally gusty winds. Highs will likely reach the upper 60s before the front moves through tomorrow night.

As the front moves through, much colder air will flow into the region as northwest winds increase. Winds will likely gust to near 40mph. Any left over rain showers may turn to snow before ending around midnight.

A cold front is approaching from the west while a warm front is to the south, trying to move northward. Temperatures across lower southern Maryland and the lower eastern shore have already pushed into the low 60s while areas to the north and west remain in the upper 30s to low 40s.

The warm front should make some more progress northward before the cold front arrives. Expect temperatures to reach the low to mid 50s in central Maryland, mid to upper 40s north and west.

Showers will arrive in the area over the next hour or so. A thunderstorm is also possible this morning as the front moves closer. Expect isolated heavy rainfall and gusty winds in any storms that develop.

The front should cross the entire state by early afternoon, gradually bringing an end to the rain threat.

Warming Up through the Weekend

High pressure has moved off the southeast coast. Southerly flow is developing and will transport warmer air into the region. Expect mostly sunny skies today with highs in the mid 50s.

The flow will strengthen tomorrow as a cold front moves in from the west. Temperatures will climb to near 60 degrees as clouds increase through the day.

Winter begins on Saturday but it will definitely feel more like spring. Expect more clouds than sun but despite those clouds, temperatures will continue to warm. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60s.

Sunny and Cool Today; Warmer into the Weekend

High pressure builds into the region today providing ample sunshine but continued cold temperatures. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 30s.

The high pushes off the coast tomorrow allowing southerly flow to develop. This will usher in warmer air up the eastern seaboard. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 40s tomorrow.

Temperatures will continue to warm Friday as a cold front stalls out to our northwest. Highs on Friday will push into the mid 50s under partly sunny skies.

A strong cold front is approaching the area from the west. Out ahead of the front, gusty winds, along with showers and a line of thunderstorms are currently moving through. The rain should come to an end this afternoon as the front moves to the east.

Temperatures are already near 70 and will top out in the low 70s before dropping a bit behind the front.

An upper level trough will swing through tomorrow, bringing a reinforcing shot of cold air and clouds to the area. A few showers are possible in the mountains. Highs will be in the mid 60s under partly sunny skies.

Areas of fog will give way to partly sunny skies this afternoon. Southerly winds will increase through the day as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs today will be in the low 70s.

The front will spread rain showers and isolated thunderstorms into the area late tonight. Some of the showers and storms may produce locally gusty winds.

The front will continue to push showers and isolated storms through the area tomorrow The front will slow and may even stall along the bay Friday afternoon and evening. This will allow shower chances to persist into tomorrow night. Highs will be around 70 degrees.
